Translation
Lord Kṛṣṇa, who shelters all saintly devotees, understood perfectly well what Vyomāsura was doing. Just as a lion grabs a wolf, Kṛṣṇa forcefully seized the demon as he was taking away more cowherd boys.

Understanding Vyomāsura’s most cruel action (tasya tat karma), Kṛṣṇa, who gives himself as shelter (śarana-daḥ) to all devotees (satām) seized him. What to speak of giving himself to those with rare good fortune among the greatest devotees.

Kṛṣṇa understood the demon’s wicked act. He was the shelter of the devotees. For this reason he wore a cowherd’s dress. Otherwise he could not protect the best devotees, the cowherds. He seized the demon with force (ojasā). The demon resembled a wolf and was thus compared to a wolf in the example.
