मैवं ममाधमस्यापि स्यादेवाच्युतदर्शनम् । ह्रियमाण: कालनद्या क्‍वचित्तरति कश्चन ॥ ५ ॥

maivaṁ mamādhamasyāpi syād evācyuta-darśanam hriyamāṇaḥ kala-nadyā kvacit tarati kaścana

mā evam I should not think like this ; mama for me ; adhamasya who am most fallen ; api even ; syāt it may come about ; eva certainly ; acyuta of the infallible Lord ; darśanam the sight ; hriyamāṇaḥ being pulled along ; kāla of time ; nadyā by the river ; kvacit sometimes ; tarati crosses to the shore ; kaścana someone .

Translation

But enough of such thoughts! After all, even a fallen soul like me can have the chance to behold the infallible Supreme Lord, for one of the conditioned souls being swept along in the river of time may sometimes reach the shore.

After all, even a fallen soul like me can have the chance to behold the infallible Supreme Lord, for one of the conditioned souls being swept along in the river of time may sometimes reach the shore. KB 10.38.5 But then Akrūra began to think, “By the grace of Kṛṣṇa everything is possible, and thus if He likes, I will be able to see Him. Just as a blade of grass floating on the waves of a river may by chance come near the shore and gain shelter, a conditioned soul carried away by the waves of material existence may sometimes be saved by the grace of Kṛṣṇa.” Akrūra thus thought that if Kṛṣṇa willed, he would be able to see Him.

"No this cannot be." Using his intelligence he overcame his miserable condition. "Though I am low, it is possible for me to see the Lord (syad eva)."

He speaks with mati (scriptural reference) and dhṛti (steadiness). He thinks he is devoid of sādhana for seeing the Lord, and completely unqualified (adhamasya). But the Lord never deviates (acyuta) from his glorious qualities like mercy in order to respond to his feeble worship. He will see the Lord because of the Lord’s great qualities. The possibility of seeing is expressed by the potential verb form syāt. He gives an example. Though wandering in the waves of enjoyment arising from karma (kāla), some person, by chanting accidently like Ājamila, crosses over saṁsāra to the shore, who is the Lord. Or persons who simply approach the Lord, like Pūtanā, attain this result. In the example of the river, sometimes a piece of grass, because of favorable wind, reaches the shore.

He thinks he is devoid of sādhana for seeing the Lord, and completely unqualified (adhamasya). But the Lord never deviates (acyuta) from his glorious qualities like mercy in order to respond to a person’s feeble worship. He will see the Lord because of the Lord’s great qualities. The possibility of seeing is expressed by the potential verb form syāt. An example is given. Some person without ability, controlled by others, at some time or at some pure place, can cross saṁsāra. Just as that is possible by the Lord’s mercy, so my seeing him now is by his mercy. Since seeing him is possible, he thinks of offering respects, and by that considers himself successful.
