Translation
Everyone except Kaṁsa rejoiced at the wonderful feat Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma had performed. The exalted brāhmaṇas and great saints exclaimed, “Excellent! Excellent!”
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Everyone except Kaṁsa rejoiced at the wonderful feat Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma had performed. The exalted brāhmaṇas and great saints exclaimed, "Excellent! Excellent!"
KB 10.44.30
All the people gathered there began to clap in great ecstasy, and no one could estimate the bounds of their pleasure. The brāhmaṇas present began to praise Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma ecstatically. Only Kaṁsa was morose; he neither clapped nor offered benediction to Kṛṣṇa.
Purport
It is understood that as the best of the
brāhmaṇas
and saints were exclaiming “Excellent! Excellent!” the worst of the
brāhmaṇas,
namely Kaṁsa’s priests, were seriously grieving.
Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Among the brahmanas those who were chief, and were devotees, shouted, "This is very good!" The low class brahmanas who were priests of Kamsa cried out, "Oh what misfortune!"
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
The devotees and the chief brāhmaṇas praised him because they lost all fear of Kaṁsa on realizing Kṛṣṇa’s greatness. They rejoiced by clearly saying “This is very good!”
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
Everyone was filled with intense joy. Balarāma gave pleasure to the people (rāma). Kṛṣṇa attracted everyone’s hearts or gave everyone the highest bliss. They were blissful because of their activities of killing the demons. Balarāma is mentioned first because he was elder. The kṣatriyas and vaiśyas etc. among whom there were the chief brāhmaṇas, all being devotees (sādhavaḥ), sang. Or the best of the brāhmaṇas and the other devotees praised them since other brāhmaṇas were afraid of Kaṁsa and thus were not so bold.
