Translation
Śrī Uddhava said: Certainly you gopīs are all-successful and are universally worshiped because you have dedicated your minds in this way to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vāsudeva.
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Śrī Uddhava said: Certainly you gopīs are all-successful and are universally worshiped because you have dedicated your minds in this way to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vāsudeva.
KB 10.47.23
He said, “My dear gopīs, your mission of human life is now successful. You are all wonderful devotees of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; therefore you are eligible to be worshiped by all kinds of people. You are worshipable throughout the three worlds because your minds are wonderfully absorbed in the thought of Vāsudeva, Kṛṣṇa.
Purport
Although other devotees have certainly surrendered their minds unto the Lord, the
gopīs
are unique in the intensity of their love.
Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
"Indeed (sma) you, whose minds are offered in this way to the Lord, are certainly successful. Other devotees also offer their minds to the Lord, but we do not see their minds offered in this way."
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Ah (aho)! This is most amazing. It is something never seen or heard previously. It is certain (sma). He uses yūyam and bhavatyaḥ which have the same meaning out of great respect.
The past particple expresses the present (pūjitāḥ). Your goal, prema is outstanding, with complete form, endowed with all good qualities (pūrṇārthāḥ). Naturally you have all wealth. Therefore, you are worshipped by all other people more than any others. Or you, Rādhā and the other gopīs, having complete prema, are worshiped by others. With the greatest prema your minds have been offered to Kṛṣṇa, the shelter of all beings (vāsudeve), the source of all beings, and the supreme shelter of all powers (bhagavati). The expression yāsām iti arpita-manaḥ indicates that their minds act independently.
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
This is amazing (aho)! Or it expresses bliss. Sma means eva (emphatic). It can be placed with all the appropriate words praising the gopīs. You have attained all success, which even Lakṣmi has not attained. Thus you are worthy of worship (pujitāḥ) by all people in all fourteen worlds. Out of joy he addreses them with yūyam and later out of devotion addresses with bhavatyaḥ. Your minds are fixed in the antaryāmī (vāsudeve), full of six qualities (bhagavati), or in the son of Vasudeva, who is directly the supreme Lord, Kṛṣṇa (bhagavati). Vasudeva-gṛhe sākṣat bhagavān puruṣaḥ paraḥ: the direct Lord, the highest person has appeared in Vasudeva’s house. (SB 10.1.23) Or you fixed your minds on the son of the best Vasu, Nanda, the supreme person full of unparalleled bueaty (bhagavati). By saying the Kṛṣṇa is supreme, he shows the gopīs that they have attained the highest success. They fixed their minds on him with the highest prema.
