Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: The women of Vraja were pleased to hear this message from their dearmost Kṛṣṇa. His words having revived their memory, they addressed Uddhava as follows.

By the personal statement of Kṛṣṇa, the gopīs were convinced about the strength of feelings of separation. They were actually experiencing the supernatural method of Kṛṣṇa worship and were much relieved by understanding that Kṛṣṇa was not away from them but always with them.
The gopīs therefore received Uddhava very happily and began to speak as follows:
Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Those gopis who were the subject of the previous verse, and were restrained by their husbands, now speak to Uddhava in this verse.
"It is true! We were with Krsna who was enjoying on that night." When they heard Uddhava, they remembered their own experiences, which were proof of his words. They became satisfied with Uddhava and began to speak to him politely.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
As the gopīs listened they gradually understood the three meanings of the verses on investigating deeply. Previously they had established their beloved as Paramātmā, the object of unconditional prema of all beings in the following verse.
yat paty-apatya-suhṛdām anuvṛttir aṅga
strīṇāṁ sva-dharma iti dharma-vidā tvayoktam
astv evam etad upadeśa-pade tvayīśe
preṣṭho bhavāṁs tanu-bhṛtāṁ kila bandhur ātmā
Our dear Kṛṣṇa, as an expert in religion you have advised us that the proper religious duty for women is to faithfully serve their husbands, children and other relatives. We agree that this principle is valid, but actually this service should be rendered to you who giver instructions. After all, O Lord, you are the dearest friend of all embodied souls. You are their most intimate friend and indeed their very self. SB 10.29.32
They remembered this now when Uddhava delivered Kṛṣṇa’s message filled with jñāna. That is the first meaning. They did not remember their own bhāvas hidden in the message filled with jñāna. They were filled with natural love for Kṛṣṇa (prītāḥ). They thought, “He should not teach us that message.”
The second meaning is this. They remembered directly meeting him by the message of Uddhava which indicated directly meeting him because of prema. The third meaning is as follows. They remembered their eternal pastimes as impressions, as if from previous birth, on hearing the message which indicated meeting him in the aprakaṭa manifestation. By the last two meanings, they were filled with the highest bliss. They had faith because it was the message from their beloved (priyatam ādiṣṭam).
A fourth meaning is derived from what Kṛṣṇa said in verse 36. From that statement they remembered that they had seen the rāsa dance because of having similar anurāga for Kṛṣṇa as a group but then they could not see the rāsa dance until this time. By the power of the message they then remembered to seek it out with intense anurāga for Kṛṣṇa.
The intention of the Lord was this. It is not possible for me to come at this time. By obtaining consolation through the message, first my promise to return will be maintained. The solution however is not just that I will come in the distant future. A message which gives various meanings which will produce various solutions is proper. The final meaning of the message should be an arrangement where I am with the gopīs eternally in pastimes in Vraja. Thirst to see me in the external manifestation however will be the cause of constantly experiencing my sphūrti in astonishment. This will lead to the greatest astonishment when they meet me directly.
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
Hearing that (evam) instruction the women attained knowledge (smṛtīḥ) by that message. Or their lamentation still did not cease. They all lamented by the force of remembrance caused by the message. That is the meaning of evam. Hearing such a message did they become pleased (prītāḥ). Actually they did not because they were women of Vraja: their very life was to see him. Strong remembrance of him arose by that message. In that condition they spoke. Or remembering that their friends had attained Kṛṣṇa in the rāsa dance, having come on his order, they were pleased because they had gained faith.
