कृष्णाय प्रणिपत्याह भक्त्युद्रेकं व्रजौकसाम् । वसुदेवाय रामाय राज्ञे चोपायनान्यदात् ॥ ६९ ॥

kṛṣṇāya praṇipatyāha bhakty-udrekaṁ vrajaukasām vasudevāya rāmāya rājṣe copāyanāny adāt

Synonyms

kṛṣṇāya to Lord Kṛṣṇa ; praṇipatya after falling down to pay homage ; āha he told ; bhakti of pure devotion ; udrekam the abundance ; vraja okasām — of the residents of Vraja ; vasudevāya to Vasudeva ; rāmāya to Lord Balarāma ; rājṣe to the King (Ugrasena) ; ca and ; upāyanāni the items received in tribute ; adāt he gave .

Translation

After falling down to pay his homage, Uddhava described to Lord Kṛṣṇa the immense devotion of the residents of Vraja. Uddhava also described it to Vasudeva, Lord Balarāma and King Ugrasena and presented to them the gifts of tribute he had brought with him.

After falling down to pay his homage, Uddhava described to Lord Kṛṣṇa the immense devotion of the residents of Vraja. Uddhava also described it to Vasudeva, Lord Balarāma and King Ugrasena and presented to them the gifts of tribute he had brought with him. KB 10.47.69 After offering respects by bowing down before Lord Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, he described the wonderful devotional life of the inhabitants of Vṛndāvana. Then he presented to Vasudeva, Kṛṣṇa’s father, and Ugrasena, Kṛṣṇa’s grandfather, all the gifts given by the inhabitants of Vṛndāvana. Thus ends the Bhaktivedanta purport of the Forty-seventh Chapter of Kṛṣṇa, “Delivery of the Message of Kṛṣṇa to the Gopīs.”

Thus end the purports of the humble servants of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda to the Tenth Canto, Forty-seventh Chapter, of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, entitled “The Song of the Bee.”

Uddhava described how the inhabitants of Vraja had greater devotion than the residents of Mathura (vrajaukasam bhakty udrekam). "O Lord Krsna, you are controlled by devotion. You are attained by devotion. You are seen by devotion. This is the meaning of all scriptures. I have seen among the inhabitants of Vraja, the most intense devotion of all your devotees. This can be understood from the statement, 'The intensity of separation from you had turned all of the inhabitants of Gokula white. When Narada saw the place he though he was in svatadvipa.' Your father Nanda Maharaja was so much attracted to you that in confusion he prayed that their minds should concentrate on you. You can understand from this his overwhelming attraction. Your mother Yasoda was so choked up that she could not say anything." Hearing this Krsna, losing control of his senses and mind, began to cry loudly in the midst of the assembly. In the evening, in a solitary place, Uddava revealed to Krsna the huge fire of prema of his beloved gopis. He briefly revealed the citrajalpa and divyonmada of Radha, the crown jewel of his dear gopis. Understanding that, Krsna spent the whole night burning with fever.

First he offered respects to Kṛṣṇa who had stayed in his palace for that time. After the preliminaries like being embraced by Kṛṣṇa, who asked about his health, taking support of Kṛṣṇa’s questions, in order, he spoke about the intense prema (bhakty-udrekam) of his father Nanda and others, consisting of their words and actions, everything that was suitable to the occasion. “By directly meeting with you (in your sphūrti) they had become happy and their lamentation had been extinguished, and not by my skill or by your message.” That was the content of his report. Later, on another occasion, he spoke to Vasudeva and others as much as was suitable about the intense prema of the people of Vraja in the same order as he spoke to Kṛṣṇa. After that, when the opportunity arose, he gave Kṛṣṇa and the others gifts. Uddhava giving Kṛṣṇa’s message, Balarāma’s arrival in Vraja, and finally Kṛṣṇa’s killing of Dantavakra should be understood in detail through the commentary. There is it stated that Kṛṣṇa returned to Vraja because the people of Vraja, taking him as their life, desired that he return. Later, disappearing with the people of Vraja, he then engaged blissfully in eternal pastimes with full satisfaction for increasing the bliss.

He fell down on the ground, offering respects, because he had bhakti by his nature and had returned after a long time, or in order to reveal a special message. He then spoke about the increase in bhakti due to separation, how because of seeing him—not because of his skill or Kṛṣṇa’s message, they were pleased and gave up their sorrow and lamentation. “Why do they not come here?” They are people of Vraja (vrajakaukasām). They desire to see you there only, and not in Mathurā. Uddhava spoke of their bhakti to Kṛṣṇa, Vāsudeva and Balarāma. But a(c) he gave gifts to the king, Ugrasena. He did not speak to him about their devotion, since as a king, he feared he would be envious. Or ca means all of them. Paying respects to all, he spoke to all about the devotion in Vraja and gave everyone gifts. Thus end the purports of the humble servants of His Divine Grace A.C. The Lord sends Akrūra to Hastināpura to satisfy the Pāṇḍavas. After Uddhava had related to Śrī Kṛṣṇa the news of Vraja, the Lord went to the home of Trivakrā, which was decorated with diverse ornamentation conducive to sexual enjoyment. Trivakrā welcomed Kṛṣṇa with great respect, giving Him a raised seat and, together with her female companions, worshiping Him. She also offered Uddhava a seat, as befitted his position, but Uddhava simply touched the seat and sat on the floor. Lord Kṛṣṇa then reclined on an opulent bed as the maidservant Trivakrā elaborately washed and decorated herself. Then she approached Him. Kṛṣṇa invited Trivakrā to the bed and began to enjoy with her in various ways. By embracing Lord Kṛṣṇa, Trivakrā freed herself of the torment of lust. She asked Kṛṣṇa to remain with her for some time, and the considerate Lord promised to fulfill her request in due course. He then returned with Uddhava to His residence. Apart from offering sandal paste to Kṛṣṇa, Trivakrā had never performed any pious acts, yet simply on the strength of the piety of this single act she attained the rare personal association of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Śrī Kṛṣṇa next went to Akrūra's house with Lord Baladeva and Uddhava. Akrūra honored the three of them by bowing down and presenting them with suitable sitting places. Then he worshiped Rāma and Kṛṣṇa, washed Their feet and poured the water on his head. Akrūra also offered Them many prayers. Lord Kṛṣṇa was pleased with Akrūra's prayers. He told him that since he, Akrūra, was in fact Their paternal uncle, Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma should be the recipients of his protection and mercy. Lord Kṛṣṇa then praised Akrūra as a saint and purifier of the sinful, and He asked him to visit Hastināpura to find out how the Pāṇḍavas, deprived of their father, were faring. Finally, the Lord returned home, taking Balarāma and Uddhava with Him.
