को भवानिह सम्प्राप्तो विपिने गिरिगह्वरे ।
पद्भ्यां पद्मपलाशाभ्यां विचरस्युरुकण्टके ॥ २७ ॥

ko bhavān iha samprāpto
vipine giri-gahvare
padbhyāṁ padma-palāśābhyāṁ
vicarasy uru-kaṇṭake

Translation
Śrī Mucukunda said: Who are You who have come to this mountain cave in the forest, having walked on the thorny ground with feet as soft as lotus petals?

When King Mucukunda saw Kṛṣṇa’s magnificent features, he wondered about His identity, and with great humility he asked the Lord, “My dear Lord, may I inquire how it is that You happened to be in the cave of this mountain? Who are You? I can see that Your feet are just like soft lotus flowers. How could You walk in the forest, full of thorns and pebbles? I am simply surprised to see this!

He asks the question in two verses. You have come through the forest, to a mountain cave hard to enter, after walking on ground profuse with thorns, with soft lotus feet. This indicates the Lord’s affection for his devotee and his power.

Who are you who have come directly here? It is not proper for you. He speaks with great devotion. To express the Lord’s amazing qualities, he first explains that his soft feet are uninjured by the thorns. Or attracted by the Lord’s great beauty and tenderness he speaks with affection about his lotus feet.
