Translation
Appearing virtually within reach of Kālayavana’s hands at every moment, Lord Hari led the King of the Yavanas far away to a mountain cave.

Kālayavana began running very fast, thinking, “Now I am nearer; I will capture Him,” but he could not. Kṛṣṇa led him far away and entered the cave of a hill. Kālayavana thought that Kṛṣṇa was trying to avoid fighting him and was therefore taking shelter of the cave.

Krsna led Kalayavana far off to a cave in the mountain, by letting himself almost get caught, and then running away time and time again.

This verse shows the dexterity of the Lord. Kālayavana was led by Kṛṣṇa whom he saw at every moment, almost in his hands, far away to a mountain cave.
