श्रीशुक उवाच इति सर्वे सुसंरब्धा वाहानारुह्य दंशिता: । स्वै: स्वैर्बलै: परिक्रान्ता अन्वीयुर्धृतकार्मुका: ॥ १ ॥

śrī-śuka uvāca iti sarve su-saṁrabdhā vāhān āruhya daṁśitāḥ svaiḥ svair balaiḥ parikrāntā anvīyur dhṛta-kārmukāḥ

Synonyms

śrī — śukaḥ uvāca — Śukadeva Gosvāmī said ; iti — thus (speaking) ; sarve — all of them ; su — saṁrabdhāḥ — greatly angered ; vāhān — their conveyances ; āruhya — mounting ; daṁśitāḥ — wearing armor ; svaiḥ svaiḥ — each by his own ; balaiḥ — military force ; parikrāntāḥ — surrounded ; anvīyuḥ — they followed ; dhṛta — holding ; kārmukāḥ — their bows .

Translation

Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Having thus spoken, all those infuriated kings donned their armor and mounted their conveyances. Each king, bow in hand, was surrounded by his own army as he went after Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Having thus spoken, all those infuriated kings donned their armor and mounted their conveyances. Each king, bow in hand, was surrounded by his own army as he went after Lord Kṛṣṇa. KB 10.54.1 Jarāsandha and all the other princes were very angry at Kṛṣṇa for having kidnapped Rukmiṇī. Struck by Rukmiṇī’s beauty, they had fallen from the backs of their horses and elephants, but now they began to stand up and properly arm themselves. Picking up their bows and arrows, they began to chase Kṛṣṇa on their chariots, horses and elephants.

They mounted elephants and other conveyances. When they had fainted they had dropped their weapons and fell on the ground. Now they took up their bows and mounted their elephants again.
