बाध्यमानोऽस्‍त्रवर्षेण रौक्‍मिणेयो महारथ: । सत्त्वात्मिकां महाविद्यां सर्वमायोपमर्दिनीम् ॥ २२ ॥

bādhyamāno ’stra-varṣeṇa raukmiṇeyo mahā-rathaḥ sattvātmikāṁ mahā-vidyāṁ sarva-māyopamardinīm

Synonyms

bādhyamānaḥ harassed ; astra of weapons ; varṣeṇa by the rain ; raukmiṇeyaḥ Pradyumna, son of Rukmiṇī ; mahā rathaḥ — the powerful warrior ; sattva ātmikām — produced of the mode of goodness ; mahā vidyām — (He utilized) the mystic knowledge called Mahā-māyā ; sarva all ; mayā magic ; upamardinīm which overcomes .

Translation

Harassed by this rain of weapons, Lord Raukmiṇeya, the greatly powerful warrior, made use of the mystic science called Mahā-māyā, which was created from the mode of goodness and which could defeat all other mystic power.

Harassed by this rain of weapons, Lord Raukmiṇeya, the greatly powerful warrior, made use of the mystic science called Mahā-māyā, which was created from the mode of goodness and which could defeat all other mystic power. KB 10.55.22 To combat the mystic powers of Śambarāsura, Pradyumna invoked another mystic power, known as mahāvidyā, which was different from the black mystic power. The mahāvidyā mystic power is based on the quality of goodness.

Pradyumna was the best of great warriors (mahā-rathaḥ), since he was born from Rukmiṇī. Thus he defeated the shower of rocks using magic which defeated all illusion.
