Translation
For You, the well-wishing friend and Supreme Soul of the universe, there is never any illusion of “us” and “them.” Yet even so, residing within the hearts of all, You eradicate the sufferings of those who remember You constantly.

“Yet although You have bestowed a special favor on us, people should not mistakenly think that You are partial to some and inattentive to others. You make no such distinction. No one is Your favorite and no one is Your enemy. As the Supreme Personality of Godhead, You are equal to everyone, and everyone can take advantage of Your special protection. The fact is that although You are equal to everyone, You are especially inclined to the devotees who always think of You. The devotees are related to You by ties of love. As such, they cannot forget You even for a moment. You are present in everyone’s heart, but because the devotees always remember You, You respond accordingly. Although a mother has affection for all her children, she takes special care of the one who is fully dependent. I know certainly, my dear Kṛṣṇa, that being seated in everyone’s heart, You always create auspicious situations for Your unalloyed devotees.”

The intelligent Queen Kuntī here points out that even though Lord Kṛṣṇa is dealing with her affectionately as a relative, He is not compromising His position as the well-wishing Soul of the universe. In other words, the Lord doesn’t play favorites. As He says in the
Bhagavad-gītā
(9.29)
,
samo ’haṁ sarva-bhūteṣu:
“I am equal to everyone.” So while the Lord reciprocates with all souls, it is natural that those who love Him intensely receive His special attention, for they want Him and nothing else.

Kunti recollected the powers of the Lord, realizing her own insignificance. "Being the friend and soul of the universe, you do not think in terms of self and others, friend and enemy. Situated in the hearts of the devotees who remember you, you destroy all sorrow."

She explains what she has said, showing the Lord’s special mercy to devotees, though he is equal to all. You are by your nature the friend of the universe, benefitting the world by bestowing your jñāna and kriyā śaktis, since you are Paramātmā (ātmanaḥ). Even though you have no illusion about “mine” or “others,” and you reside in the hearts of those who think of you with your qualities like compassion, appearing to them because you manifest your qualities, you destroy all their suffering, just as the sun, by its nature of helping others, destroys darkness for persons having eyes, by giving sight even to the blind.

As the Lord, though you are equal to all, you show mercy to the devotees. You are the soul of the universe (ātmanaḥ viśvasya) and are thus situated in the hearts at all times of person who even once remember you and again and again you destroy their suffering since the sufferings saṁsāra come again and again.
Or though you are the friend and soul of the universe, does your mind not fixed (bhrāntiḥ) on your devotee (sva-para)? It is. Though you are situated in the hearts of all beings as antaryāmī, for those who remember you, not the non-devotees, or for those who just remember you, what to speak those who perform nine types of bhakti, you destroy suffering in an extraordinary way, at the root. You do not destroy the suffering for the non-devotees.
