prāṇān nārāyaṇo ’vatu
śvetadvīpa-patiś cittaṁ
mano yogeśvaro ’vatu

Translation

The word avatu is repeated because of their anxiety to protect Kṛṣṇa. Similarly pātu is repeated in the next verse for the same reason.
