Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

With her tender foot, effulgent with the reddish glow of her nails, she scratched the ground, and tears darkened by her eye makeup sprinkled her kuṅkuma-reddened breasts. There she stood, face downward, her voice choked up by extreme sorrow. KB 10.60.23 She silently scratched the floor with her toenails, which reflected reddish light on the floor. The tears from her eyes mixed with the black cosmetic ointment from her eyelids and dropped down, washing the kuṅkuma and saffron from her breasts. Choked up on account of great anxiety, unable to speak even a word, she kept her head downward and remained standing just like a stick.

Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

The symptoms of her anxiety are described in this verse. She scratched the ground with her feet, which were tender and shone with red nails.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

Because her foot was tender she should not have scratched the ground with her foot. This shows her terrified state of mind. Similarly her dark tears, in streams, completely (ā-siñcatī) covering her kuṁkum powdered breasts, showed this. The redness of her breasts reflected down to redden her toe nails (nakhāruṇa-śrīyā).
