keśān samuhya tad-vaktraṁ
prāmṛjat padma-pāṇinā

Translation
The Lord quickly got down from the bed. Manifesting four arms, He picked her up, gathered her hair and caressed her face with His lotus hand.

The relationship between Rukmiṇī and Kṛṣṇa was like that between Lakṣmī and Nārāyaṇa; therefore, Kṛṣṇa appeared before Rukmiṇī in His four-handed manifestation of Nārāyaṇa. He got down from the bedstead, lifted her up by her hands and, placing His cooling hands on her face, smoothed the scattered hair on her head.

The Lord manifested four hands so He could do all of these things simultaneously.

Krsna showed four hands in order to raise her from the ground, embrace her and wipe her face. He bound up her hair (samuhya).
