Translation
Because You are suitable for me, I have chosen You, the master and Supreme Soul of all the worlds, who fulfill our desires in this life and the next. May Your feet, which give freedom from illusion by approaching their worshiper, give shelter to me, who have been wandering from one material situation to another.

“My dear Lord, You are the master of the three worlds. You can fulfill all the desires of all Your devotees in this world and the next because You are the Supreme Soul of everyone. I have therefore selected You as my husband, considering You to be the only fit personality. You may throw me in any species of life according to the reactions of my fruitive activities, and I haven’t the least concern for this. My only ambition is that I may always remain fast to Your lotus feet, for You can deliver Your devotees from illusory material existence and are always prepared to distribute Yourself to Your devotees.

An alternate reading for the word
sṛtibhiḥ
is
śrutibhiḥ,
in which case the idea Rukmiṇī expresses is this: “I have been bewildered by hearing from various religious scriptures about numerous rituals and ceremonies with their promises of fruitive results.” Śrīla Śrīdhara Svāmī gives this explanation, while Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī and Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī give an additional idea Rukmiṇī might express with the word
śrutibhiḥ:
“My dear Lord Kṛṣṇa, I was bewildered by hearing about Your various incarnations. I heard that when You descended as Rāma You abandoned Your wife, Sītā, and that in this life You abandoned the
gopīs.
Thus I was bewildered.”
It is understood that Śrīmatī Rukmiṇī-devī is the eternally liberated consort of Lord Kṛṣṇa, but in these verses she humbly plays the part of a mortal woman taking shelter of the Supreme Lord.
Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
"But I, being the daughter of a human, having heard about your qualities, have taken shelter of you,. Since you are the paramatma (atmanam) I should surrender to you, most favorable to me."
With the sudden appearance of humility, thinking of herself as an ordinary human bound by karma, she prays for the opportunity to worship him. "May I surrender unto your lotus feet after wandering from many birth (sriti bhih)."
There is another reading srutibhih. In that case the meaning is " May I surrender unto your lotus feet after becoming confused by hearing that you had abandoned Sita in a previous incarnation, that in your present incarnation you had abandoned the gopis, and by hearing your words today . I surrender to those feet which by their mercy of their own accord approach the person worshipping them, and which destroy a multitude of illusions. May I surrender unto the lotus of your feet which give happiness and a steady taste to persons like us."
She hints that she would rather surrender to his feet than his lotus face, because that face (mouth) sometimes emanates poison, even death inflicting poison ( by words), and at other times gives life restoring nectar.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
I will worship you, worthy of worship (anurūpam) for many births in the future, whom I have described in the previous verses (tam). Thinking that attaining his worship is rare, since she thinks that she is an ordinary human affected by karma, out of humility caused by intense prema, she then prays. May your lotus feet be my shelter in various births while I wander in different bodies. Another version has śrutibhiḥ instead of sṛtibhiḥ. Some śrutis speak of you as having attachment to nothing, some speak of you as having attachment to devotees. Some speak of you as being indifferent even when others are in distress. With doubts about the śrutis (bhramanytā), may your feet be my shelter. May you, with lotus feet, who will approach the worshipper, be my shelter. You are a suitable shelter for those in fear, because of you are the Supreme Lord, the supreme soul, who can grant all desires.
Sṛtibhiḥ can also mean “as I wander about by your various actions.” Or if the word is śrutibhiḥ, it can mean “as I wander about with scriptures intent on speaking about the pastimes with Lakṣmī.” This indicates non-attachment of the Lord to Rukmiṇī. Or, “as I wander about with persons hearing about how you gave up Sītā in your other incarnation or how you gave up the gopīs.” Those feet liberate a person from various illusions (anṛtāpavargaḥ). There is another meaning.
May those feet be my shelter as I wander about in various avatāras (sṛtibhiḥ). Devatve deva-deheyam mānuṣatve ca mānuṣī: when Kṛṣṇa appears as a devatā, his consort appears as a devī and when he appears as a human she appears as a human also. (Viṣṇu Purāṇa) I will appear in a suitable form when you appear for your pastimes. The word śrutibhiḥ can mean “I will enjoy pastimes with you just as the śrutis explain about me in your various incarnations.” What are those feet? They are free of illusion, the very form of eternity knowledge and bliss.
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
I have chosen you, with the glories mentioned, who is thus suitable for me. The suitability is described. You are the lord of lords (adhīśam). Not only externally do you control but internally as well. You are the antaryāmī (ātmānam), the supreme guru and friend, inspiring me to perform proper activities. You fulfill desires in this life and the next. The word ca is repeated to indicate that both are equally important. The three descriptive terms are in order of increasing excellence. Not only in this life do I worship you. I will worship you in future lives as well. She prays with humility out of great prema, thinking that attaining him is very rare. May your lotus feet be my shelter, as I wander about in various births. How the lord fulfills desires is shown. Those feet destroy the suffering of saṁsāra (anṛtāpavargaḥ). Or those feet cause liberation to be disregarded (anṛta).
