न त्वाद‍ृशीं प्रणयिनीं गृहिणीं गृहेषु पश्यामि मानिनि यया स्वविवाहकाले । प्राप्तान् नृपान्न विगणय्य रहोहरो मे प्रस्थापितो द्विज उपश्रुतसत्कथस्य ॥ ५५ ॥

na tvādṛśīm praṇayinīṁ gṛhiṇīṁ gṛheṣu paśyāmi mānini yayā sva-vivāha-kāle prāptān nṛpān na vigaṇayya raho-haro me prasthāpito dvija upaśruta-sat-kathasya

na — not ; tvādṛśīm — like you ; praṇayinīm — loving ; gṛhiṇīm — wife ; gṛheṣu — in My residences ; paśyāmi — do I see ; mānini — O respectful one ; yayā — by whom ; sva — of her own ; vivāha — marriage ; kāle — at the time ; prāptān — arrived ; nṛpān — kings ; na vigaṇayya — disregarding ; rahaḥ — of a confidential message ; haraḥ — the carrier ; me — to Me ; prasthāpitaḥ — sent ; dvijaḥ — a brāhmaṇa ; upaśruta — overheard ; sat — true ; kathasya — narrations about whom .

Translation

In all My palaces I can find no other wife as loving as you, O most respectful one. When you were to be married, you disregarded all the kings who had assembled to seek your hand, and simply because you had heard authentic accounts concerning Me, you sent a brāhmaṇa to Me with your confidential message.

KB 10.60.55 “My dear honored wife, although I have thousands of wives, I do not think that any of them can love Me more than you. The practical proof of your extraordinary position is that although you had never seen Me before our marriage and had simply heard about Me from a third person, still your faith in Me was so much fixed that even in the presence of many qualified, rich and beautiful men of the royal order, you did not select any one of them as your husband but insisted on having Me. You neglected all the princes present, and very politely you sent Me a confidential letter inviting Me to kidnap you.

"Among all my loving wives, you are the best, O one who honors me (manini). You sent a brahmana bearing a secret message to me, about whom you had heard many things (upasruta sat kathasya)."

I cannot see such an affectionate wife in any house, or among all my palaces. When the time came for your marriage, you sent to me a messenger, one who bears a secret (rahoharah). Another version has raho aho. The meaning is the same. This indicates that she disregarded her father and brother. You became attached from simply hearing about me within your room, without realizing my glories. Now, with direct realization you are even more attached. O woman worthy of worship (mānini) or having an elevated mind! In this manner you are most qualified. Others are not.
