“My dear lord, you have given me one thousand arms, but I do not know what to do with them. They are simply a burden; I cannot use them properly in fighting, since I cannot find anyone competent to fight with me except your lordship, the original father of the material world.

Bāṇāsura’s subtle implication here is this: “And so when I have defeated you, Lord Śiva, my world conquest will be complete and my desire for battle satisfied.”

"Since you can fulfill all desires, you should dissipate my sorrow. Except for you, there is no one equal to me for fighting". This implies "If you mericfully fight with me, then I will be freed of my sorrow from my unsatisified urge to fight. Defeating you, I will become famous as the conquerer of all directions."

He reveals his pride with indirect speaking in two verses. Your benediction has only (param) become a burden since I can find no one in the three worlds to fight except for you. You are my equal, but I should not fight with you. My arms are a burden since they have no use.
