Translation
When King Yudhiṣṭhira heard that Jarāsandha remained undefeated, he set to pondering, and then the primeval Lord, Hari, told him the means Uddhava had described for defeating Jarāsandha.

King Yudhiṣṭhira was very anxious, however, when he heard that King Jarāsandha of Magadha did not accept his sovereignty. Seeing King Yudhiṣṭhira’s anxiety, Lord Kṛṣṇa informed him of the plan explained by Uddhava for conquering King Jarāsandha.

Hari, the most excellent (adyah), told him the means of conquering Jarasandha.

Nārada told him that Jarāsandha remained unconquered. The Lord did not say yet what Uddhava had said. Yudhiṣṭhira thought in his mind how to defeat him. Though Bhīma was most courageous and filled with the power of the Lord, he returned without defeating Jarāsandha on a secret instruction from the Lord. The Lord then told him the means with joy (ha). The Lord was the root form of all avatāras (ādyaḥ).
īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ sac-cid-ānanda-vigrahaḥ
anādir ādir govindaḥ sarva-kāraṇa-kāraṇam ||1||
Kṛṣṇa is the supreme controller. He is the enjoyer of innumerable consorts, and the possessor of an eternal form of knowledge and bliss. Though, he is without origin, he is the source of all other forms of God, and is the cause of all causes. He is Govinda, the boy who cares for the cows. Brahma-saṁhitā

Hearing this, the king became to think of a method of killing Jarāsandha or in sorrow he worried. When he did this, Kṛṣṇa spoke. Or Kṛṣṇa, who removes all worries, who is most excellent (ādhyaḥ) because he manifest his nature as bhagavān, spoke to the king who was thinking about Jarāsandha after hearing he could not be defeated. Or Kṛṣṇa spoke what Uddhava, the chief (ādhyaḥ) among ministers, spoke.
