Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

Upon hearing such intolerable blasphemy of the Lord, several members of the assembly covered their ears and walked out, angrily cursing the King of Cedi. KB 10.74.39 … but all the members present in the meeting, except for a few who agreed with Śiśupāla, were very much agitated because it is the duty of any respectable person not to tolerate blasphemy against God or His devotee. Some of them, who thought that they could not properly take action against Śiśupāla, left the assembly in protest, covering their ears with their hands in order not to hear further accusations. Thus they left the meeting, condemning the action of Śiśupāla.

Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

The assembly shouted at Sisupala, "Oh Sisupala, you should immediately die." They then left the hall.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

Though some knew the real meaning of the words, they went through the motions of intolerance following along with the others. They cursed Śiśupāla, shouting, “Your prāṇas should immediately leave your body” since they, being saintly, could not tolerate the words. Then they left.

Purport (Sanatana Goswami)

They could not tolerate criticism of the Lord of the universe, endowed with all good qualities (bhagavat) since they were well behaved. Thus they left.
