Translation
Śālva’s hurtling spear lit up the whole sky like a mighty meteor, but Lord Śauri tore the great weapon into hundreds of pieces with His arrows.
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Śālva's hurtling spear lit up the whole sky like a mighty meteor, but Lord Śauri tore the great weapon into hundreds of pieces with His arrows.
KB 10.77.13
… like a great meteor. It was so bright that the whole sky was lit up by its presence. But as soon as Lord Kṛṣṇa appeared, He tore the great weapon into hundreds and thousands of pieces by releasing His own arrows.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Kṛṣṇa destroyed the spear while it was in the sky.
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
The spear was like a meteor because of its speed and lighting up all directions. Or Kṛṣṇa broke the spear in the sky like a meteor since he was directly the Lord, appearing in Śūra’s dynasty to reveal his unlimited powers.
