Translation
When Brahmā said, “Yes, let it be so,” the most fortune Droṇa, who was equal to Bhagavān, appeared in Vrajapura, Vṛndāvana, as the most famous Nanda Mahārāja, and his wife, Dharā, appeared as mother Yaśodā.
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
When Brahmā said, "Yes, let it be so," the most fortune Droṇa, who was equal to Bhagavān, appeared in Vrajapura, Vṛndāvana, as the most famous Nanda Mahārāja, and his wife, Dharā, appeared as mother Yaśodā.
KB 10.8.50
Lord Brahmā agreed to give them the benediction, and as a result the same Droṇa appeared as Nanda Mahārāja in Vṛndāvana, and the same Dharā appeared as Mother Yaśodā, the wife of Nanda Mahārāja.
Purport
Because whenever Kṛṣṇa appears on this earth He superficially needs a father and mother, Droṇa and Dharā, His eternal father and mother, appeared on earth before Kṛṣṇa as Nanda Mahārāja and Yaśodā. In contrast to Sutapā and Pṛśni, they did not undergo severe penances and austerities to become the father and mother of Kṛṣṇa. This is the difference between
nitya-siddha
and
sādhana-siddha.
Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Drona was born as Nanda in Vraja and Dhara was born as Yasoda. It should be understood that they, as sadhana siddhas, entered into the nitya siddha forms of Nanda and Yasoda at that time.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
The word bhagavān modifies Droṇa to show great respect. One version has sa eve iha instead of sa bhagavān. That person, Droṇa, took birth in Vraja (iha) as Nanda, who became even more famous than previously (mahā-yaśaḥ).
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
Saḥ indictes Nanda, not his expansion Droṇa. When the Lord appears as svayam bhagavān with his full form, his associates also appear in their full form. He was born in Mathuṛa district. He was very famous. This was indicated by his prayer. Or more than previously, he was famous. He was known as Nanda. This also indicates his fame (giving joy to all). Mahā-yaśāḥ can modify both Nanda and Yaśodā.
