Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

Vasudeva embraced Nanda Mahārāja with great joy. Beside himself with ecstatic love, Vasudeva remembered the troubles Kaṁsa had caused him, forcing him to leave his sons in Gokula for Their safety. KB 10.82.33 As soon as Vasudeva saw Nanda Mahārāja, Vasudeva jumped up and ran over to him and embraced him very affectionately. Vasudeva began to narrate his own past history—how he had been imprisoned by King Kaṁsa, how his babies had been killed, how immediately after Kṛṣṇa’s birth he had carried Kṛṣṇa to the place of Nanda Mahārāja, and how Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma had been raised by Nanda Mahārāja and his queen, Yaśodā, as their own children.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

Having described the Vṛṣṇis’ reaction in general, now Vasudeva’s detailed reaction is described. More than the others, Vasudeva was completely overjoyed and then overcome with prema—with ecstatic symptoms like goose bumps and trembling. He remembered how Kaṁsa had imprisoned him and killed his other sons and how he had put his son or his two sons in Gokula. He remembered the previous incidents on seeing Nanda, because of recalling the great help Nanda had been in freeing him from suffering.
