Translation
He worshiped them with offerings of auspicious items easily available to him, such as fruits, uśīra root, pure, nectarean water, fragrant clay, tulasī leaves, kuśa grass and lotus flowers. Then he offered them food that increases the mode of goodness.

After welcoming the Lord and His companions, according to his ability he brought fruits, incense, scented water, scented clay, tulasī leaves, kuśa straw and lotus flowers. They were not costly items and could be secured very easily, but because they were offered with devotional love, Lord Kṛṣṇa and His associates accepted them gladly. The brāhmaṇa’s wife cooked simple foods like rice and dāl, and Lord Kṛṣṇa and His followers were very much pleased to accept them because they were offered in devotional love.

Srutadeva then began to wonder for what reason he was able to meet with Krsna (kutah mama a nu abhut). A indicates his thinking process, and nu indicates his astonishment. "How did I, fallen in the well of household life, get to meet Krsna and these sages who are the abode of his form (asya atma niketana bhu suraih), and whose footdust is the abode of all tirthas?"

Śukadeva, pleased by the brāhmaṇa’s good fortune, recites with a longer meter to describe the brāhmaṇa’s actions in two verses. He satisfied (ārādhayām āsa) the Lord with worship (saparyayā) by offering fruits etc. He offered fruit, an auspicious gift, articles of worship like arghya (ārhaṇa), then uśīra root as incense, cooked and dried āmalaki fruit sprinkled to remove obstacles, in order to achieve his life’s desires and water sweet as nectar. After they were relieved of fatigue, at noon he had them bathe, and offered them earth. He offered perfumes such as musk, which had been stored for some time with ketakī and other fragrant leaves in new, sealed pots. Sṛīdhara Svāmī says this was equivalent to musk. He offered tulasī, kuśa and lotuses so they could worship deities. He offered foot that increased sattva-guṇa, since the ingredients had not been begged. Though unmentioned he also offered ācamana and other items.

Śukadeva, pleased by the brāhmaṇa’s good fortune, recites using a longer meter to describe the brāhmaṇa’s actions in two verses. He satisfied (ārādhayām āsa) the Lord with worship (saparyayā) by offering fruits etc. Arhaṇa refers to arghya and pādya or dūrva grass. He offered food that increased significantly sattva-guṇa or devotion, obtained without begging. The order of the items in worshipping is not in proper sequence since he offered items as he obtained them.
Mṛdā means with kasturi and other unguents. It is called earth because it is obtained easily in the forest, like earth. Uśīra is an ointment, since sandalwood was unavailable. Śiva is āmalakī. Though included in fruit, it is mentioned separately because it is dear to the Lord. Earth can also refer to earth made fragrant by heating or adding perfumes.
