Translation
Lord Balarāma then sat down on the shore of the ocean and fixed Himself in meditation upon the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Merging Himself within Himself, He gave up this mortal world.

Balarāma then sat down on the shore of the ocean and fixed himself in meditation upon the Supreme Lord. Merging himself within himself, he left this earth planet.
He gave up the earth planet or gave up the human body (lokaṁ mānuṣyam).
