यासामम्भ: पवित्रममलमुपयुञ्जाना: पुरुषऋषभद्रविणदेवकसंज्ञा वर्षपुरुषा आपोमयं देवमपां पूर्णेनाञ्जलिना यजन्ते ॥ २२ ॥

yāsām ambhaḥ pavitram amalam upayuṣjānāḥ puruṣa-ṛṣabha-draviṇa-devaka-saṁjṣā varṣa-puruṣā āpomayaṁ devam apāṁ pūrṇenāṣjalinā yajante.

Translation
The inhabitants of Krauṣcadvīpa are divided into four castes, called the Puruṣas, Ṛṣabhas, Draviṇas and Devakas. Using the waters of those sanctified rivers, they worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead by offering a palmful of water at the lotus feet of Varuṇa, the demigod who has a form of water.

The water of these rivers is pure and clean. The inhabitants of Krauṣcadvīpa are divided into four castes, called the Puruṣas, Ṛṣabhas, Draviṇas and Devakas. They worship the Supreme Lord by offering a palmful of water at the lotus feet of Varuṇa, the devatā whose form is water.
Apomayam means “formed from water.”
Purport
Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura says,
āpomayaḥ asmayam:
with joined palms the inhabitants of the various sections of Krauṣcadvīpa offer the sanctified waters of the rivers to a deity made of stone or iron.
