श्वोभूतेऽप उपस्पृश्य कृष्णमभ्यर्च्य पूर्ववत् । पय:श‍ृतेन जुहुयाच्चरुणा सह सर्पिषा । पाकयज्ञविधानेन द्वादशैवाहुती: पति: ॥ २२ ॥

śvo-bhūte ’pa upaspṛśya kṛṣṇam abhyarcya pūrvavat payaḥ-śṛtena juhuyāc caruṇā saha sarpiṣā pāka-yajṣa-vidhānena dvādaśaivāhutīḥ patiḥ

Synonyms

śvaḥ bhūte — on the following morning ; apaḥ water ; upaspṛśya contacting ; kṛṣṇam Lord Kṛṣṇa ; abhyarcya worshiping ; pūrva vat — as previously ; payaḥ śṛtena — with boiled milk ; juhuyāt one should offer ; caruṇā with an offering of sweetrice ; saha with ; sarpiṣā ghee ; pāka yajṣa — vidhānena — according to the injunctions of the Gṛhya-sūtras ; dvādaśa twelve ; eva indeed ; āhutīḥ oblations ; patiḥ the husband .

Translation

On the morning of the next day, one should wash oneself, and after worshiping Lord Kṛṣṇa as before, one should cook as one cooks for festivals as stated in the Gṛhya-sūtras. Sweetrice should be cooked with ghee, and with this preparation the husband should offer oblations to the fire twelve times.

The next morning, after performing ācamana and worshiping the Lord as before, the husband should offer twelve oblations of rice cooked in milk and ghee according to the rules in cooking rice for full moon rituals. Svo ’bhūte means “early the next morning.” Pāka-yajṣa-vidhānena means “according the rules for cooking rice for the full moon observances.
